The skin tone I basically use for any skin. I recolor with that tone on a new layer and usually bring it down to 80% opacity. The hair tones I usually keep at 100%.
For lips and tattoos I normally bring opacity down a bit, and sometimes I'll use multiply or overlay layer effect. Just play with it a bit until you get something good.
